Create an Online Money Machine – Online Marketing Systems

At WebReach our slogan is “Online Marketing Systems” and this is for a very good reason. From our experience, all successful online businesses and online marketing campaigns are composed of an online marketing system, which may include many components.

Sure, you can learn a bit about Google AdWords, create an account, build out a campaign and set your daily budget and within a couple of hours have targeted traffic heading towards your website, but is this going to be sufficient to create a long-term, profitable online marketing system?

In the vast majority of cases, the answer to this is a resounding “No”. 

Here at WebReach we tend to get quite focussed on certain things before thinking about paying hard-earned cash to send traffic to a website. We always look at a prospective Internet marketing campaign from the perspective that it were our own money that we were spending.

So, one of the first things we take a good look at is the target website, the first component in any online marketing system. We ask ourselves a few pointed questions, questions such as:

  • Does the site look professional, does it give the visitor a feeling that they are dealing with a reputable business?
  • Does the site have a well thought out navigation structure?
  • Is there relevant and captivating content?
  • Are there appropriate conversion events, i.e. are there proper mechanisms to convert the user to a lead or sale?
  • If there is already Site Analytics installed on the site, then what does the data tell us about the site, i.e. How long do visitors stick around?  What percentage of visitors sign up or buy? What pages cause most visitors to leave the site? 
  • If this is an online store, is the checkout process smooth and efficient? 

..and the list goes on. 

The next thing we do is take a good look at the keywords and the market niche that the site is targeting, and do a good appraisal of the competition’s strengths and weaknesses. From this we are able to see what steps we need to get more traffic to the site, to get higher rankings, or in the case of Pay-Per-Click, how strong the competition’s campaigns are and how much it is going to cost per month to get to the top spots in the sponsored links.

We also consider more factors, such post-sale or post-signup contact with the user, etc. 

So as you can see, there are a bunch of things that need to be considered before building out an online marketing campaign.
